The official color of Fender’s® 2012 American Standard FSR Special Run Lipstick Stratocaster is listed as Shell Pink. But that description is only half the story. Made in Corona, California and equipped with three “jangly” Seymour Duncan SLS1 pickups, the finish of the FSR replicates the paint used on a 1956 Chrysler DeSoto automobile. I had a local luthier set the action on my Lipstick Strat for slide playing. No doubt, pink is the color of classic sound and beauty, all in one.
